We’re looking for an enthusiastic, talented design student to join our team at an exciting time for JMDA, working on adding new concepts and visuals to our established portfolio of existing ideas, and supporting us in progressing the brand into the future.
The position is open to 2nd or 3rd-year students looking for industry experience. This is a great opportunity to further improve your 3D CAD skills, working closely and learning from our experienced Industrial Design team.
Skills and Experience:
We’re looking for a student or recent graduate who has the following:
Proven experience working with Keyshot;
A great eye for detail, to create realistic and appealing static 3D renderings;
The ability to put together basic animations, like camera/model parts/light movements, exploded views and similar;
Proficiency in Premiere Pro and After Effects are also highly appreciated for the post-processing stage;
Knowledge in 3D CAD software (ideally Solidworks) would be highly advantageous;
Experience with the Adobe 2D Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) to support the creative team.
You will be expected to contribute to various phases of the ID process, applying your skills from university to create unique product designs. You must be a team player, ready to share in the demands of a small business and willing to support across all areas.

Must be a UK resident (or EU resident able to secure valid UK working visa.)
Valid passport and a willingness to travel overseas as and when a project requires.
Clean driving license and independent means of transport is essential due to our rural location.

JMDA is an award winning, UK based product design consultancy now entering our 30th year. We are a growing company, and are now looking to further expand our team and bring in an experienced design engineer.
This is a unique opportunity for a talented, motivated individual to join a company with big ambitions and global reach. We are seeking someone with a proven ability to utilise Solidworks to engineer product designs. This role has career advancement potential and the opportunity to work on products with recognised brands.
As a Product Design Engineer, you will be expected to contribute to various phases of the product development process, applying your knowledge to engineer robust, feasible, production ready product designs.
Skills and Experience:
At least 4 years industry experience working within a consultancy or in-house product development environment
Proven ability to execute and deliver engineered parts and assemblies for manufacture.
Experienced working with Solidworks 3D CAD (essential) to generate 3D models and assemblies, including good understanding of surfacing tools and maintaining clean, robust geometry.
Understanding of aesthetic demands for quality consumer products.
Understanding of structural design of mechanisms and components
Possess creative and analytical skills to propose and assess best mechanical solutions
Strong material knowledge (especially plastics), part design and tooling.
Broad knowledge of manufacturing, primarily plastic injection moulding and metal fabrication
In depth knowledge of DFM and the tooling process
Experienced in prototyping, testing and proving feasibility of a design
Willingness to support and share knowledge with other design team members
Able to support and steer creative designers with the requirements for engineering parts and assembly
Ability to take charge and manage projects, ensuring deadlines are met on time
A team player, ready to share in the demands of a small business
