JMDA partnered with our client (Hi Fortune Health Products Co.,Ltd) to develop the next generation of ultra light powered wheelchairs.
Starting with a basic frame geometry and folding principle, JMDA worked hard to understand the end user needs, both functionally and ergonomically. We implemented an integrated look to the frame (initially as a lightweight magnesium alloy casting, later changed to carbon fibre), before supporting the client with outline engineering. Battery placement was adjusted to directly under the seat, rather than traditionally at the back, which allowed easier folding to be achieved.
