Chris Lester attends HWCC training course

Chamber Training Ensures H&S Compliance

As part of JMDA’s dedication to continued professional development and training, CAD Engineer and JMDA’s Internal Health and Safety Officer, Chris Lester recently attended a Hereford and Worcester Chamber of Commerce training course.

The one day IOSH Working Safely course covered a range of topics, including defining and identifying workplace hazards and risks, as well as practical ways in which companies can improve their safety performance and protect the environment.

As members of the Chamber, JMDA have access to a selection of support services which can assist the company with efficiency, raising their profile and securing new business. The Chamber also offers specialist knowledge and advice and relevant training courses.

Talking of his detailed IOSH Working Safely course, Chris Lester explains ‘Under the Health and Safety Act 1974 employers have a legal obligation to protect the health and safety of their employees. As JMDA’s appointed Health and Safety Officer, it is my duty to stay up to date with legislation and regulation so that our workplace remains compliant and our staff safe.’

In June this year HW Chamber of Commerce held their annual Business Awards, which aim to celebrate the success of local businesses across both counties. JMDA Design were Highly Commended for their achievements in the ‘Exporter of the Year’ category, which recognised the company’s global business growth and export and their determination to overcome difficult challenges whilst enhancing the local economy.
